Bluefield Incidents and Draw Maps for ArcGIS use web maps in ArcGIS Online to store notes data. A web map configured with a Draw Maps Feature Service must first be configured to do so. Follow the checklist below to complete configuration. If this is your first time or if you want to be sure to get every step exactly right, follow the detailed how-to steps.
Checklist:
▫As the web map owner, create the Draw Maps Feature Service (giving it a unique name) from the following URL: https://services9.arcgis.com/WI1hP80H5gmD3iAC/arcgis/rest/services/Draw_Maps_Layers_v4/FeatureServer
▫If you don’t already have a web map you want to configure, create one now.
▫In the Map Viewer, add all the feature service’s layers and tables (points, marks, highlights, collaborations, users, strokes, and layers) to the web map you are configuring.
▫Reorder the layers in the map. They should appear at the top of the contents list looking like this:
⁃Draw Points
⁃Draw Marks
⁃Draw Highlights
⁃Draw Collaborations
⁃Draw Users
▫Set the filter for the first three layers, Draw Points, Draw Marks and Draw Highlights to:
IsErased is false
▫Save the map.
▫The web map is now ready to host Bluefield Incidents and Draw Maps collaborations.
• If the web map will be used for Bluefield Incidents, there is no need to do anything further in ArcGIS Online. New incidents will be generated from within Bluefield Incidents in the field.
• If the web map will be used with Draw Maps for ArcGIS, draw your first collaboration boundary from within ArcGIS Online. Name it. Leave CollaborationID blank. Leave Type as "Normal" and Status as "Open". Leave the other attributes alone. Save the map again.
▫Don’t forget to share the feature service and web map appropriately.
Done. The web map will automatically appear in Bluefield Incidents and Draw Maps for you (the web map’s owner) and for anyone who has marked it as a Favorite in ArcGIS Online. Other users will have to use the Search for a web map function in the app to use the web map the first time. Either way, after it has been selected, it will appear in Recent Items for easy access next time.
